Snacks and More
Children like snacks so planning for refreshments is not a bad idea to build rapport with your mentees. Still, there are certain points that you need to take note of before deciding snacks for the students.
The capped budget by NUS-OSA is generally enough for you to propose weekly snacks for mentees. From my point of view, it costs SGD1.00/mentee/session maximum. I usually spend less than that for common snacks that most kids love. Please don't forget that my mentees are primary school students so it may differ from your mentees. Suggested Snacks and Drinks may somehow help you guys generate some ideas 😊.
I highly recommend sweet snacks as it is helpful in boosting the mood and energy of your mentees after a long session. In the first 3 to 4 sessions of the service, quickly plan out stuff that you want to give your kids beforehand to ask for approval to purchase from the OSA staff. Here are some of my suggestions:
